Mama Solis falls into a coma and dies a few months later without having the opportunity to tell Carlos about Gabrielle's affair. However, while fleeing the house, she is hit by a car driven by Andrew Van de Kamp, and Gabrielle is able to dispose of the evidence against her. Mama Solis catches Gabrielle and John having sex and takes a photograph to document Gabrielle's betrayal. Carlos suspects that Gabrielle is being unfaithful and he enlists the help of his mother, Juanita "Mama" Solis ( Lupe Ontiveros). To keep herself entertained, she has an affair with John Rowland ( Jesse Metcalfe), her teenage gardener. She is shown to be extremely lonely while Carlos is money-minded and oblivious to her unhappiness. In the pilot episode, Gabrielle is unhappy with her marriage to Carlos, whose priority is work. They then relocated to Wisteria Lane in the fictional suburb of Fairview, Eagle State, where Gabrielle befriended Susan Mayer ( Teri Hatcher), Lynette Scavo ( Felicity Huffman), Bree Van de Kamp ( Marcia Cross), and Mary Alice Young ( Brenda Strong). As her career began to fade, she married wealthy businessman Carlos Solis ( Ricardo Antonio Chavira), who proposed after only three dates. Juanita is spoiled anyway though so I guess I didn't expect her to be all that considerate or worried about her mom anyway.Lily Collins-Helm (former adopted daughter) That Juanita's mom was also going through a hard time about it. ![]() Like, yes her feelings are valid due to her probably feeling out-of-place and possibly less loved, however it should've been explained that her parents still loved her as much as they did before, but they're also going through the loss of another daughter (or something along those lines). And I do think Juanita should've been in therapy and while in therapy, she should've had the situation explained to her better. She wasn't even allowed time to mourn the loss of said biological daughter. She was told to remove her biological daughter from her life and she was supposed to do it in the blink of an eye. I think Carlos should've helped Gaby (and at the very least they should've talked about it together) because Carlos really didn't ask for Gaby's opinion regarding the matter. I understand that Juanita deserves to feel loved by her parents and not out-of-place, but Carlos didn't even stop to consider how Gaby must've felt watching her biological daughter leave and possibly never come back. However, I do think when Grace had to leave with her mom, the way Carlos handled it hurt Gaby. Personally, I think what happened to Gaby and Carlos is horrible, but they did their best handling it. ![]()
